DJ Read's Tsunami Song
Singers Boy George and Sir Cliff Richard hope to help raise £2m for the tsunami relief fund after recording a charity single.
The song - Grief Never Grows Old - was written by radio DJ Mike Read.
Other stars being lined up to lay down vocals on the track include Ronan Keating, Jamie Cullum, Chris Rea and Robin and Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees.
Grease star Olivia Newton-John has also been approached to take part.
Read said he wrote the song before the tragedy unfolded on Boxing Day - but had no plans to release it as it was such a sad song.
"It is the business's way of saying 'what can we do?'," he said. "Well we can do this and keep the profile going, the awareness going, over a period of time.
"It's a natural home for it (the song) because people kept saying to me 'it's such a good song', but it is such a sad song."
The song is expected to hit the shelves within a fortnight.
